Length: Full Day
Activities: Optibot- Launch into the future with Optibot—a small, self-driving bot that senses changes in light. This summer, campers will explore the technology behind transportation and design the ultimate futuristic vehicle that might one day be reality! Not only will campers design tracks for the bots to follow, but they will also discover how sensors are used in autonomous vehicles, explore different modes of transportation and personalize their own line tracing robot to take home. Robotic Pet Vet- Children become robotic pet vets this summer where they will diagnose puppy problems, design and build dog parks and compare the inner mechanics of robotic dogs to the anatomy and physiology of a real dog. They’ll also analyze circuits used to make the dogs light up and customize their very own robotic dog to take home at the end of the week! Mod My Mini Mansion- Why not have your smart home do your chores? Campers will dream up, design and take home their very own futuristic smart home filled with gadgets, LEDs, technology and innovation! From talking mirrors to toasters that know how to cook your favorite food, children will invent and build models of these smart gadgets and gizmos. Stick to It- Campers will invent something new every day as they explore what it takes to be a physicist, engineer and entrepreneur. Daily challenges from the Nation’s Greatest Innovators™ inspire campers to bring their own ideas to the table, think big, persevere and get to the heart of what it means to be an inventor. Campers will invent, make and craft solutions to real-world challenges by building their own prototypes and discovering that anything is possible!

Wild and crazy ideas become reality in this year’s all-new Camp Invention program, Fast Forward! A nonprofit program of the National Inventors Hall of Fame, Camp Invention allows children in kindergarten through 6th grade to experience real-world problem solving, creative thinking, invention, and teamwork – all while having FUN! Activities include challenges and achievements from the brightest thinkers around—National Inventors Hall of Fame Inductees – to inspire children! This year, campers will bring their “smart” home to life with smart furniture and eco-smart energy, design a robotic dog and diagnose puppy problems, explore sensors by designing tracks for an Optibot, a robot that senses dark and light surfaces, and build Cake Catapults! Local educators lead the week of fun, hands-on, STEM activities that allow children to think big, explore their curiosity, and never give up. Early registration discounts are available. Visit or call 800.968.4332 to register. Use promo code ThinkBig25 to save $25 (expires 3/23) and ThinkBig15 to save $15 (expires 5/4). If your child still wants the Camp Invention experience, but has completed 6th grade, he or she can participate in the National Inventors Hall of Fame’s Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program for students entering grades 6-9! In the CIT program, they’ll get the best of both worlds – experiencing a week of hands-on fun at camp while learning how to be a positive mentor and coach.
