Activities: Stage West Theatre offers summer camps for ages 6-18. The camps range from creative play to classic staged stories to improvisation, and are taught by the area’s leading professionals. Our Summer Theatre Conservatory is a one-of-a-kind program for teenagers and young adults aged 14-18 exploring a career in theatre arts. Scholarships available.

Summer Theatre Conservatory 14-22 YR OLDS July 9 - July 27, (Mon-Fri 9am-4pm) - Seasoned industry artists lead Summer Conservatory students through the process that produces a theatrical show, including audition preparation technique, and training in areas of acting, scenic design, and technical theatre. This fun and well-rounded program culminates in two performances of their show in our Studio theatre. In addition, Conservatory students take part in a professional photo shoot, taking home a disk of agent-ready headshots. ($550) / $50 Registration Fee ---- 2018 camps: AGES 6-12 | 15 MINUTE MUSICAL: SEUSSICAL June 11-15 (M-F 9:30am-12:30pm) | Performance date: TBD | $175 Campers dive into the Broadway musical, Seussical, and learn scenes, music, & choreography from the show. A final “show off” performance will be held on the last day of camp! Instructor: TBD ---- AGES 12-18 | BLACK PANTHER: STAGE & SCREEN ACTING AND COMBAT June 11-15 (M-F 1:00-4:00) | Performance date: TBD | $175 Think you have what it takes to be a stunt double? Take a trip into fantasy and science fiction this week and learn combat choreography and the acting tricks of the trade of stage and screen. Instructor: TBD ----- AGES 6-12 | PLAY CREATION CAMP: WORLD OF MINECRAFT June 18-22 (M-F 9:30am-12:30pm) Performance: Friday, June 22 at 11:30am | $175 In this fun and interactive workshop, inspired by the World of Minecraft, students will invent their own Minecraft creatures and use them to create a short play! Students will learn staging and create props through art projects in addition to developing their public speaking skills. The week culminates with a performance of the pieces on the Studio Stage. Instructor: Justin Flowers ---- AGES 12-18 | CLOWNING AROUND: A NIGHT AT THE IMPROV June 18-22 (M-F 1:00-4:00) Performance: TBD | $175 Are you the clown in your family? Do your friends think you’re funny? Join us for a week of improvisation and fun as we jump into the wonderful world of unrehearsed comedy. Work on jokes, sight gags, and physical comedy with a “Night at the Improv” show-off performance at the end of the week. Instructor: Shawn Patrello ---- AGES 6-12 | BROADWAY MUSICAL CAMP June 25-29 (M-F 9:30am-12:30pm) Performance: Friday June 29 at 11:30am | $175 Students learn musical theatre audition techniques, while performing short scenes and songs from great kid-friendly Broadway Musicals. A selection of show-stopping numbers will be performed at the end of the week on the studio stage. Instructor: Mary Grimm ---- AGES 12-18 | MAKING MOVIES: WHO DUNNIT? June 25-29 (M-F 1:00-4:00) | $175 Calling all teen screen actors, directors and writers! Work with film, television, and broadcast professionals to write, shoot, and star in your own original “murder mystery movie.” Instructor: Michael Johnson
