Ever wonder what it was like to live in Dallas during the 1860s? Find out for yourself at this historic museum, located just south of the city. In an effort to collect, preserve and teach the history of North Central Texas (and Dallas, specifically), this museum boasts historic buildings, furnishings, exhibits, educational programs and special events to help engage today’s children (and adults alike) in the past.

Families can join museum leaders to learn blacksmithing skills, how to weave, how to care for farm animals and much more during the museum’s educational programming. Or, simply tour the properties to get a glimpse at what life was like for early Dallas settlers.

This venue can accommodate children with special needs.
