Opening January 13, Irving Arts Center presents This Light of Ours: Activist Photographers of the Civil Rights Movement, a major traveling art exhibition organized by the Center for Documentary Expression and Art in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The exhibition documents the civil rights movement through the work and voices of nine activist photographers. On view in the Main Gallery at Irving Arts Center.

The exhibition focuses primarily on the Deep South states of Mississippi and Alabama between the years 1963-1966 and features a selection of 157 black and white photographs, representing the work of Bob Adelman, George Ballis, Bob Fitch, Bob Fletcher, Matt Herron, David Prince, Herbert Randall, Maria Varela and Tamio Wakayama.

This venue is wheelchair accessible.
