Independence Day: Celebrate Independence with Red, White and Blues Music at the Dallas Arboretum

Active and retired military and first responders with a valid I.D. will receive free general garden admission Saturday, June 30 through Wednesday, July 4.

Live blues music on the Pergola Terrace:

-Musician Rob Holbert on the blues saxophone, performing from 11am–2pm on June 30 and July 4

-Blues guitarist David Brashier on July 1 from 11am–2pm

Join Empanada Cookhouse for a free cooking demonstration from 11am–12pm on June 30, July 1 and 4 (register online, dallasarboretum.org/demos). Empanadas will be available for purchase from 12–2pm.

On July 1, join Humble Pies for a cherry pie demonstration from 12–1pm at A Tasteful Place (register online, dallasarboretum.org/demos).

Watch the Window to the Wild Bird Flight Show on July 4 at 10:30am at the Martin Rutchik Concert Stage and Lawn.

Enjoy $2 hot dogs and root beer floats at Terrace Cafe on June 30, July 1 and 4.



At the Rory Meyers Children's Adventure Garden, Fourth of July weekend June 30-July 4:

Story time with Eddie the Eagle 10am in First Adventure. Join Eddie the Eagle and enjoy a patriotic story with the United States national bird, the bald eagle.

Fruit Tastings: Red, White, and Fruit, 12 and 2pm in the Incredible Edible garden. Explore the phytonutrients in the colors of the American flag.

Rockets' Red Glare! - Pop: Power of Pressure at 4pm in The Glade. What makes things go POP!? Explore the science behind air pressure and have an explosive time!

Creativity Corner, Sponsored by Neiman Marcus (all ages). Create arts and crafts using and discussing natural components such as flowers, plants, animals, conservation, and recycling (while supplies last).

Fourth of July craft: Stars & Stripes from 9am-11am June 30-July 4.
